Alden Robert Flugge, age 84, of Osage, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at his home.                A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Following the funeral service, cremation will take place.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family of Alden Flugge.Alden was born Feb. 17, 1932, at Elma, to Elmer and Elsie (Lubbert) Flugge. He received his education in Howard County country schools. Alden worked for different people while he was growing up. On Dec. 27, 1954, he married Florence Miller at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington. Alden farmed for many years and also was a carpenter around Osage until he retired.Alden is survived by his wife, Florence Flugge of Osage; his children, Catherine (Darlo) Koster of Grafton, Ronald (Cindy) Flugge of Osage, Carolyn (Charles) Schallock of St. Ansgar, Carla Wright of Osage, Charlene (Dean) Betts of Osage, Russell (Cindy Fossey) Flugge of Carpenter, Richard (Dawn) Flugge of Osage, Roger (Tammy) Flugge of Marshalltown, and Rickey Flugge of Osage; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Flugge of Waterloo, and Roy (Sharon) Flugge of Chickasha, Okla.; four sisters, Helen Bartels of Denver, Clara Freebury of Waverly, Rosanna (Vernon) LaBarge of Nashua, and Inez Bode of Rochester, Minn.He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and four brothers.Information available and condolences accepted at www.champion-bucheitfuneralhome.comChampion - Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, 641-732-3706
