All-state Chickasaws

Lead Summary
,

Maybe — no, scratch maybe and say absolutely — what New Hampton baseball coach Cory McDonald will miss the most about his seniors is their team-first attitude.
He knows, for example, that the two seniors that were named all-state by the Iowa Newspaper Association earlier this week would trade the honor if it meant that they could have ended their careers at the Class 2A state tournament.
“I know both Noah and Carter will say that they would gladly give up these individual honors to have played their last baseball game with their teammates in Des Moines,” McDonald said. “But both of these terrific student-athletes should be very proud of this well-deserved recognition of their excellent contributions to our team's success.”
Hopp was named to the INA’s Class 2A first team as a first baseman while Stochl, who was also named the all-academic all-state first team by the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association, was selected to the third team as a pitcher.
