Another tough one to swallow

Lead Summary

Probably no one in the state had two closer games than Turkey Valley's football team did the past two weeks.    Following an overtime loss to Riceville a week ago, the Trojans suffered their second district loss Friday at AGWSR, when the Cougars won by a point, 45-44.    "This was another heartbreaker," said coach Mark Scott. "The players played hard and fought back from an early two touchdown deficit. One play somewhere in the game could have been the difference in the outcome."    In the end, the Cougars used a weapon that hasn't been in the Turkey Valley arsenal for years. After going 4-for-4 on PAT kicks during the game, AGWSR's Luca Fiebach kicked a field goal with :06 left on the clock for the win.    Not that the Trojans have really missed the PAT kicking game. Friday they scored six times and made eight points on conversions.    Both teams scored two touchdowns in the first quarter, and even though the Cougars made both of their kicks, taking an early 14-0 lead, Turkey Valley came back with a 16-yard Cale Reicks touchdown pass from Ethan Leibold and a Will Einwalter 65-yard touchdown catch.
