Arlene Grace was born October 12, 1925, the daughter of James and Anna (Zobek) Bokaty in Schley, IA.  As a child, she attended country school and Immaculate Conception School at Our Lady of Lourdes in rural Elma.  After completing her education, Arlene worked for the nuns at Immaculate Conception School as a cook, as skill she would fine tune into a passion throughout her life.  It was while she was working here that she met and fell in love with Francis Klobassa.  The couple were united in marriage on May 8, 1945 at Our Lady of Lourdes.  They made their home in the rural Alta Vista/Elma area all their married life. Together they farmed side by side and welcomed their four children; Charlene, Jim, Gary and Joseph.  As much as she enjoyed her children, becoming a grandmother and great grandmother was the most special gift to Arlene!
She thoroughly enjoyed nourishing her family with the dishes she made and could often be found reading cook books in the few spare moments she had.  Her specialties were kolaches, soups, dressing and pies.  In her golden years, Arlene spent her time traveling with Francis to Lansing, IA where they spent their weekends away from the farm.  She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Rosary Society.
Those left to cherish Arlene’s memory are her children, Charlene (Larry) Meirick and Gary (Marilyn) Klobassa, both of Alta Vista, IA; her grandchildren, Shelly (Dax) Lawless of Marion, IA, Darrin Meirick of Alta Vista, Ryan (Michelle) Klobassa of Sioux Falls, SD, Brad (Rachel) Klobassa of Adel, IA, Kurt (Tamara) Klobassa of Irving, TX, Kristi (Tyler) Rosonke of Elma, IA and Kayci Klobassa of Charles City, IA; her great grandchildren, Hunter, Gabie, Lexie, Gianna, Clare, Ryder, Lydia, Brooks and Tyson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was welcomed home into heaven by her parents; her husband, Francis on their 76 wedding anniversary; her sons, Jim and Joseph (in infancy), and grandson, Ronnie Meirick.
