Celine "Dolly" Whiteman age 88 of New Hampton, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at New Hampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at Holy Family Parish, New Hampton with Msgr. Carl Schmitt celebrating the Mass. Presenting the offertory gifts will be Tahlia Provancher and Todd Whiteman.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Hampton with pallbearers Todd Whiteman, Dale Schilling, Dick Bonfig, Dave Bonfig, Gary Rosonke and Ricky Rosonke as pallbearers.  Friends may greet the family 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Online condolences for Dolly's family may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.com  641-394-4334Celine “Dolly” Whiteman was born Feb. 12, 1928, in New Hampton, the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Bonfig) Schilling. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and was a 1945 graduate of the New Hampton High School. Following graduation, she attended Pitzies School of Beauty in Waterloo. On Dec. 28, 1946, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Washington, IA, she married Russell Bernard Whiteman. To this union two sons were born. Dolly was self-employed as a hairdresser starting in New Hampton in 1948 and owned and operated her salon until retiring in 1989. Russell died on August 15, 2005 at the age of 82. Memberships include the American Legion Aux., Holy Family Parish, Mercy Medical Center Aux., and the former Business and Professional Woman’s Club. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking and was also a volunteer at the Chickasaw County Food Pantry.Survivors include two sons, Roger (Phyllis) Whiteman of Rockford, Ill., Bob (Sue) Whiteman of Buchanan, Va.; two grandchildren, Todd (Jennifer) Whiteman and Tahlia (Kyle) Provancher; five great-grandchildren, Ava Whiteman, Caitlin Whiteman, Cora Whiteman, Gavin Provancher, Owen Provancher; brother-in-law, Darold (Nadine) Whiteman of New Hampton; sister-in-law, Leona Schilling of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Scott Whiteman; brother, Everoul Schilling.
