Chickasaw girls win the night

Lead Summary
,

Goals for the neighboring volleyball coaches were the same Tuesday at Turkey Valley, to try and improve their teams in some way. New Hampton coach Jess Geerts also had in mind to get all of her players court time during the night, and she did, as the Chickasaws won over their Highway 24 neighbors 2-0 and over Kee High 2-0.  The New Hampton-Turkey Valley match was the nitecap of a triangular which started with a Upper Iowa Conference clash between the Trojans and Kee High, which Turkey Valley lost 3-1.      A first-set win against Kee may have been the highlight of the night for the Trojans, as they were down by seven at one point before coming back for a 25-23 win.  Although coach Tammy Vrzak thought senior Morgen Kuennen would return by Tuesday, Kuennen was still sidelined with a very colorful purple foot, sprained in the Trojan win last Monday over Postville.  “Karissa Schmidt had an outstanding night for our team,” Vrzak said. “She came to play middle since Morgen has been injured.”More on the New Hampton and Turkey Valley matches may be found in the Oct. 7 Tribune.
