Chickasaw runners can’t wait for fall

The Chickasaw cross country team had some cooler weather in which to compete Tuesday at Waukon and it agreed with the runners, according to their coach.“I think my team is ready for fall weather, because we certainly run better when it's a little brisk,” said Jamie Quass, “however, we did have quite a few incredible performances.”New Hampton's varsity boys were third among five teams at the meet and the varsity girls were eighth of nine schools. Decorah and Crestwood were the top teams in each of the varsity standings.In the girls' race, Hannah Heit and Olivia Burke finished within 20 seconds of each other, Heit in 19th place of 60 runners and Burke in the 21st spot.
