Chickasaws are blessed with host of young coaches

Lead Summary

High school students have very impressionable minds and are influenced very easily by the media, social networks, and most of all, people.
It’s why having positive  influences and good role models is essential for the success and development of any high school student. If there happens to be a negative role model or influence, that can be detrimental to a young impressionable mind.
And it’s also why young coaches are such an important part of any athletic program.
Having a coach who is relatable and who understands the life of a high schooler in today’s world as opposed to the life of a high schooler in 1960 can be huge for the development of an athlete and a person.
Not that veteran coaches aren’t critical to a program’s success, for they are.
But the importance of having young coaches — who high school students often find more “relatable” — can’t be understated.
