Chickasaws inching closer to claiming fifth consecutive NEIC title

After getting swept in a doubleheader by Waverly-Shell Rock two weeks ago, New Hampton picked up a huge victory over Oelwein to stay in the hunt for a Northeast Iowa Conference championship. Now, they sit back atop the conference, tied for first in the standings with the Go-Hawks after the Chickasaws went 3-0 last week, and Waverly-Shell Rock dropped a conference game to Decorah.
New Hampton kicked off the week with a bang, as they swept Waukon in a Northeast Iowa Conference doubleheader on Tuesday.
The Chickasaws posted a season best 24 hits in the first game. This included five apiece from Wyatt Stochl and Hunter Pesek as well as four from Keegan Kane. Kane also drove in a whopping seven runs. This matchup went the full seven innings with New Hampton in control throughout, as they claimed victory 16-4.
