Chickasaws use relays to finish third at Waukon

Lead Summary

New Hampton coach Scott Frerichs has found plenty of success when he puts Braydon Fisher, Keagan John, Shane Burke and Josh Fenske in relays this year.  And Friday night was certainly not an exception when the quartet notched two more victories as they claimed the sprint medley and 4x100 titles at the Waukon Invitational.  The Chickasaws overcame a disastrous handoff in the sprint medley to win the relay and then set a season-best time to win the 4x100 as New Hampton finished third in the team standings.  Decorah won the meet with 177 points, 20 more than the host Indians, while the Chickasaws edged Crestwood 96-92 for third.  “Keagan gave us a really nice 400 leg on the sprint medley,” New Hampton coach Scott Frerichs said.  More on the story may be found in the April 25 Tribune.
