Coach ‘pleased’ with N-P runners
Crunch time is rapidly approaching for the Nashua-Plainfield cross country team, and the way the somewhat limited Huskies ran last week, coach Jennifer Kalainoff believes her team is ready for the postseason. Nashua-Plainfield ran without three seniors who were on the homecoming court at last week’s Hampton-Dumont Invitational, but both the boys and girls put up solid finishes. The boys finished sixth while girls took seventh in a meet dominated by Class 2A and 3A teams. “I was very pleased,” Kalainoff said. “The girls are continuing to make progress. Our times really were not much off of our Osage times, and that was a good meet for us. “ On the boys side, Brock Dietz led the way with a 16th-place finish while Caleb Lines cut almost 40 seconds off his 2015 H-D time and finished 33rd. ”I think maturity and being a year older has helped tremendously,” Kalainoff said when asked about Lines’ performance. With a year's growth, he's also that much stronger. I also think that having two great workout partners helps the most.
