Coronavirus putting back-to-back title dreams in jeopardy for NH girls

Lead Summary

Everything was set up perfectly for the New Hampton girls golf team. After winning the Class 2A team state championship by a whopping margin in 2019, the Chickasaws had five of their six varsity golfers returning this year and seemed poised to make a run at winning back-to-back state titles this spring.
However, the rapid spread of the Coronavirus suspended spring sports for four weeks beginning on Monday, March 16 - the day NH was supposed to begin practicing. Depending on the future of this pandemic, the postponement of high school sports could be pushed to an even later date or a cancellation of spring activities altogether, meaning the Chickasaws would be unable to have an opportunity to achieve their dream of a second consecutive state championship.
Senior twins and University of Northern Iowa commits Allison and Morgan Nuss have posted standout golf careers at New Hampton. With this being their final prep year, they would be demoralized if the season was called off.
