David does not slay Goliath

The forecast was threatening, but Turkey Valley’s golfers were able to complete a big challenge against South Winn and Decorah Tuesday.    Coach John Reicks called their competition two of the best programs in the state in a meet dubbed the Winneshiek County Classic.    “Even though we came out on the short end, the kids battled their way around the course and posted some respectable scores,” said Reicks.    Morgen Kuennen’s 56 was her season low and led the Trojans, but the girls finished third in the meet.   The rest of the scores may be found in the April 21 Tribune.
