Eight Chickasaws all-NEIC

Lead Summary

The New Hampton softball team reaped the rewards for an outstanding softball team as eight Chickasaws earned all-Northeast Iowa Conference honors.
“When you have a year like we did, you’re going to get a lot of girls honored,” said New Hampton coach Jack Seelhammer, whose team went 29-8, finished second in the NEIC standings and advanced to the Class 3A regional championship game. “I think when you realize how busy these girls are — they all play other sports — it says something about them as athletes.”
Seniors Lauren Frerichs, Natalie Hoey and Sadie Tenge were named to the first team, and another trio of seniors — Maddi Mooorman, Paige Wisner and Kerigan Tenge, were named to the second team. Senior Kayla Crooks and junior Alexa Wemark were named honorable mention.
