Former Chickasaw enjoys run as manager for Big 12 men’s basketball champs

Lead Summary

Say this about New Hampton High School, it produces championship managers.
Six days after the Iowa women’s basketball team claimed the Big Ten tournament championship with 2014 NHHS grad Nicole Mulford serving as its head manager, the Iowa State men’s basketball team claimed the Big 12 tournament title with a win over Kansas last Saturday.
And guess what? One of the Cyclones’ managers is Jake Zwanziger, who graduated from New Hampton High last spring.
“It’s kind of crazy,” Zwanziger said. “I forgot about Nicole, but really, think about it. The two teams that won championships had New Hampton managers. That has to mean something, right? Maybe if UNI had a New Hampton manager, they would have won their conference tournament, too.”
