Four Trojans selected for all-UIC girls honors

Lead Summary

Although some of Turkey Valley’s games were called off due to the weather, the Lady Trojans racked up some impressive numbers while taking the runner-up spot in the Upper Iowa Conference this season.
The best Trojan numbers came from Katlyn Baumler, who was named to the UIC first team at the conclusion of the season, along with a spot on the all regional team.
She was joined in UIC postseason honors by Jaycie Byrne on the second team, along with Jordan Lukes and Breanna Busta as honorable mention picks. No seniors are among the group; all but Byrne are juniors.
“All of these girls had an outstanding response to the pressures of being a young team,” said coach Carla Nymeyer. “Each of them, with their own style and character, created ways to lead. Their efforts and focus on playing as a team were impressive.”
