Helen Genevieve Murray Dies At 99

Helen Genevieve Murray, 99, of Iowa City died peacefully Thursday, December 15th at Solon Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 20th at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Iowa City with Father Steven Witt officiating.  Visitation will be after 9:30 AM Tuesday at the Church. Graveside Committal will be at 3:30 Pm, Tuesday at Mt Carmel Cemetery in Lawler, Iowa. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Regina Education Center or St. Mary’s Church.
Helen was born November 24, 1917 in Lawler, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Genevieve (Burns) Murray.  
Helen graduated from St. Louis University in 1944 with her degree in Nursing.  She spent her professional career as the Operating Room manager in Kalispell, MT, Mercy Hospitals in Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City, Iowa.  
Survivors include nieces Mary Ann Murray of Iowa City, Melissa (Jim) Zender of Los Gatos, CA, nephew Michael (Anne) Murray of Iowa City.  Great Nieces and Nephews, Patrick and Michael Henderson, Michelle, Kathryn and Daniel Murray.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William, Russell, and Ralph, and sister, Mabel Miller.
