It’s an ‘orange night’ in Nashua gym

Lead Summary

Orange, the “color” for leukemia,  was definitely in vogue Tuesday at the Nashua-Plainfield High School gym.
And all that orange — on both the Nashua-Plainfield and the New Hampton sides of the gym — meant a lot to one Nashua family.
Here’s the story: Earlier this month, Nashua-Plainfield senior Caleb Ulrichs was diagnosed with the disease and is currently undergoing treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. So Nashua-Plainfield students declared an “orange out” for Tuesday’s volleyball match. New Hampton students caught wind of it on social media and also showed up in orange.
Ulrichs’ grandparents, Vonnie and Terry Shannon, live in New Hampton, and the family was touched  by the show of support.
“Thank you to the students from New Hampton and N-P for the ORANGE OUT,” wrote Caleb’s father, Jeff Ulrichs, on Facebook. “[We’re] overwhelmed by the support from both communities for Caleb. He loves the pictures.”
