Judy May Speicher, age 71 of Fredericksburg, Iowa died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at her home.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg with Rev. Ronnie Koch presiding. Interment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg.
Friends may greet the family from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.  Online condolences for Judy's family may  be left at hugebackfunrealhome.com 
Judy May Speicher was born December 11, 1947, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Clifford and Emma (Bunn) Burbank. She attended country school around Fredericksburg and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1966.
While in school Judy met the love of her life, Dean Speicher. They were a year apart in school. The couple was married on March 31, 1968, at the Peace United Church in Fredericksburg. To this union, three children were born. The couple lived in Fredericksburg their entire life.
Judy worked at Ott and Forsman along with 5Ds Restaurant. She also was a manager at the Plum Creek Golf Course and Jackson Heights Golf Course. She was a very skilled bookkeeper as she did this for the Chickasaw Ambulance Service for many years and has been doing Speicher Excavating’s books since 1977.
Judy was very involved in the community. She was a lifetime member of the Am Vets Auxiliary Post 90 and held several offices in the club. Judy also belonged to the Hall of Fame Bowlers, Land Improvement Contractors of America, Fredericksburg Fire Department, Chickasaw Rescue Squad and EMT and the Fredericksburg City Council.
In her free time, she enjoyed doing things with her grandchildren and being outside whether mowing the lawn or feeding her squirrels. Cooking was also very important to her as her kitchen was “always open”. She was known as “grandma Judy” to several generations.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Speicher of Fredericksburg, IA; one son, Jay (Tonya) Speicher of Fredericksburg, IA; two daughters, Dena Palmer of Fredericksburg, IA and Susan (Ted Batemon) Collins of Waterloo, IA; four grandchildren, Mercedez Speicher of Florence, AL, Zaine Speicher of Fredericksburg, IA, Zachary Palmer of Ames, IA and Zade Collins of Waterloo, IA; one brother, James (Carol Schulz) Mitchell of Fredericksburg, IA; two sisters, Pat (Dan) Becker of Waterloo, IA and Shirlee Howe of New Hampton, IA; one brother-in-law, Keith (Barb) Speicher of Fredericksburg, IA; one sister-in-law, Mary Mitchell of Kissimmee, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Leo and Mabel Speicher; one brother, Jacque Mitchell; one son-in-law, Tod Palmer.
