 Karen K. Bobst age 76 of New Hampton died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at The Congregational Church of Christ, New Hampton with Rev. Pall Pickar presiding.Interment will be held in Alexander Cemetery, Alexander, Iowa, with, Dana Bobst, Jeremie Bobst, Jessie Flattem, Mike Flattem , Lea McKee, and Dan Jaeger serving as pallbearers.Friends may greet the family 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.Karen Kay Bobst was born Nov. 23, 1939, in Hampton, the daughter of Louis and Marie(Kuhlers) Dirksen. Karen obtained her education at Alexander schools. In January of 1957 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Bobst. To this union two sons, Jeff and Justin were born.Initially, the couple lived in Hampton, until January of 1967 when they moved to New Hampton. Karen worked out of her home for many years babysitting the local children of New Hampton. She later worked at the Little House of Bargains in New Hampton.Karen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping, fishing, and spending time at the family cabin in Minnesota. She was a member of the Red Hats Club. Karen was an active member of The Congregational Church of Christ for many years.Karen is survived by her husband of 59 years, LeRoy; two sons, Jeff (Twila) Bobst of Waverly, Justin (Lonna) Bobst of Alexander; six grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Flattem of Minneapolis, Minn., Dana Bobst of Waverly, Erin(Dan) Jaeger of Cedar Falls, Kari Hillman of Waverly, Jeremie Bobst of Latimer, and Lea (Evan) McKee of Knoxville, Tenn; four great-grandchildren, Kambry, Riley, Halle, and Braeden.She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Dirksen
