Kathleen “Kathy” Rahlf, age 82, of New Hampton, IA passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at MercyOne in New Hampton.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating.
Burial will be at New Hampton Cemetery.


Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home with a 3:30 PM Rosary and a 6:30 PM Scriptural Wake Service. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass on Saturday.

Kathleen Ann, “Kathy,” was born May 2, 1937, the daughter of Richard and Ramona (Brown) Rahlf in New Hampton.
She attended and graduated from New Hampton High School. After completing her education, Kathy attended Upper Iowa University for Education. She taught country school in rural Chickasaw County before traveling out west to, Rollins, WY where she spent the remainder of her career educating children in kindergarten and first grade.
Kathy returned home after she retired.


Kathy was a faithful member of Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed taking care of her cats and dog, Lola. She also spent time in her garden, canning and crocheting afghans. Kathy will be missed by her family and close friends.


Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Charlotte Peterson of Mason City, Carol (Ed) Rahlf of New Hampton; her sisters-in-law, Muriel Rahlf of Tripoli, IA and Lana Rahlf of Fredericksburg, IA and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Russell and Roger Rahlf; niece, Christine Peterson; brother-in-law, Alvin “Doc” Peterson.
