Lucille Mary Burgart age 88 of Alta Vista, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at Colonial Manor of Elma.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Washington with Tony Geerts, Barry Briggs, Ryan Geerts, Adam Burgart, Ethan Rapenske, Mike Brummond, Tim Clark and Jim Brummond servings as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Becky Wood, Nicole Briggs, Elizabeth Rapenske and Chantelle Jordan, Marlene Wiley.Friends may greet the family 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton with a 6:30 p.m. scriptural wake service. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Online condolences for Lucille's family may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.comLucille Mary Burgart was born Sept. 16, 1928 on the family farm near Ionia, the daughter of Anthony and Cecelia (Gilbert) Kramer. She attended St. Boniface Catholic School in Ionia until she graduated in 1946. After graduation she married the love of her life, Leonard Burgart, on April 20, 1948 at St. Boniface.  Lucille worked at Kumeth Wood Factory in New Hampton for a few years before working at The House of Flowers. After that she drove to Cedar Falls to work for Bancroft Flowers. She loved flowers. You could often catch Lucille helping Leonard around the farm as well.Being social was very important to Lucille. She loved having company over and always greeted everyone with a smile. Reading, cooking and baking, playing bingo and puzzles were some of her favorite pastimes.  Lucille is survived by one son, Jay (Connie) Burgart of Ionia; three daughters, Linda (James) Geerts of Charles City, Betty (Loren) Briggs of Kansas City, Joyce Rapenske of New Hampton; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother John (Judy) Kramer of Sugar Grove, Ill; three sisters, Florine Clark of Ionia; Norma Brummond of Ionia; Patricia Balk of Charles City.She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard on June 23, 1996; one son, Brian Burgart on August 26, 1979; one twin sister Lucinda Hansen.
