Lynn M. Bakula dies at 65

Lynn M. Bakula, 65, of Cedar Falls, died at her home on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016.  She was born Sept. 6, 1951 in New Hampton, the daughter of Everest and Eleanor (Blethen) Forkenbrock.  Lynn married Francis Bakula on June 9, 1973 in New Hampton.  She graduated from Mount Mercy College with a double major in Art and Business, and later graduated from Hawkeye Institute of Technology (HCC) with a Graphic Artist degree.  Lynn worked at the Black Hawk County Treasurers Office and McKenna Professional Imaging.  She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Daughters, and was past secretary and campaign organizer for the Black Hawk County Democratic Party. Lynn is survived by her husband, Francis Bakula, of Cedar Falls; her two sons, Damian Bakula of Kansas City, Missouri and Bradley (Keani) Bakula of Honolulu, Hawaii; her daughter, Angela Bakula, of Grinnell; three grandchildren, Nadine, Elaina and Maxwell, and her sister, Sr. Kay Forkenbrock, Order of St. Francis in Dubuque. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joseph Forkenbrock and a sister, Rita Thayer. Services were Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, with entombment at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum in Waterloo.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
