Mabel M. Maurer dies at 96

Mabel M. Maurer, 96, of Ft. Lupton, Colorado, formerly of Sumner, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the S. K. Rogers Funeral Home, Sumner. A visitation for Mabel will be held one hour before the service at 9:30 a.m., also at the S. K. Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Wilson Grove Cemetery, rural Sumner.
Mabel was born on Jan. 15, 1921 to Henry and Mary Maurer. She graduated from the Sumner High School, Sumner.
Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be well remembered for her infectious giggle and the love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mabel is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Crabtree Younger of Ft. Lupton, Colo. and Sherry Mattke of Fredericksburg; her grandchildren, Shayne Nierling, Renee Mason, Natalie Wurzer and Wade Wurzer, as well as, her great grandchildren, who all adored her; brothers, Dale Maurer and Gene Maurer; and sister Ruth Frisch.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Darren Nierling; and brothers, Don Maurer, Howard Maurer and Harold Maurer.
The S. K. Rogers Funeral Home, Sumner, is in charge of arrangements.
