Marceile M. Christoph, age 88 of New Hampton, passed away on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at New Hampton Nursing and Rehab.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Hampton.Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton with a 7 p.m. Scriptural Wake Service.  Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass on Friday.   Online condolences for Marceile’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com.  Memorials may be directed to the family.Marceile Marie Christoph was born June 1, 1928 at New Hampton, the daughter of Henry A and Amalia C. (Glaser) Gilbert.  She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated high school from St. Mary’s in North Washington.  After graduation, she worked various places, then on April 7, 1947, Marceile was united in marriage to Herbert “Herb” H. Christoph at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington.  The couple farmed together near “Devon” for 42 years until Herb’s death.  She continued to live on the farm and farmed with her son.  Marceile was a member of the Rosary Society.  She enjoyed her family very much, and many friends.  Marceile loved to work in her large yard, also gardening and completed many scrapbooks throughout the years.  She especially enjoyed sewing for her family, upholstering and refinishing furniture.  She also enjoyed Polka dancing and golfing for many years.Marceile is survived by three sons, John (Gladys) Christoph, Dave (Bernadette) Christoph and Steve (Maryann) Christoph, all of New Hampton; four daughters, Cheryl (Dave) Reichter of Elkader, Donna (Len) Huegel of La Crescent, Minn., Marjorie “Marj” (Dennis) Troyna of New Hampton, Rosanne (Dennis) Wilke of Urbandale; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norbert (June) Gilbert of Waverly and Harold “Harry” (Pat) Gilbert of New Hampton; two sisters, Mary Ann Shekleton of New Hampton, and Doris Haskovec of Alta Vista, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herb on August 12, 1989; her grandson, Dean Christoph on July 1, 1989; one brother, Alvin Gilbert and one sister, Agnes Lentz.
