McDonald continues to train with MLB season suspended

Lead Summary

When New Hampton high school graduate and current Houston Astros pitcher Cole McDonald reported to spring training in Florida on March 8, the last thing he expected to happen was for Major League Baseball to suspend the season just a few days later.
However, that’s exactly what took place due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
“I didn’t think it was going to be much when it first happened,” McDonald said about COVID-19. “I knew it was starting to get serious when the NBA and NHL seasons were suspended. That’s when some of the guys started gossiping about whether our season would be impacted as well.”
