Mrs. Neva Kayser Garnier dies at 101

Mrs. Neva Kayser Garnier passed away peacefully on Friday March 31, 2017 as a resident of the Village of Laurel Run senior living community in Fayetteville, Pa.  She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Peters of Fayetteville, Pa and Lola Reynolds of Winfield, iowa.  Mrs. Garnier was preceded in death by husband Arnold Garnier in December of 2001 and she will be interred at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein.  Born in Southeastern Iowa on August 6, 1915, Mrs. Garnier enjoyed 101.5 years of life and leaves a legacy of fingerprints via 5 Grandchildren, 8 Great- Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.  After 38 years of serving the greater New Hampton, Iowa community as a History and English School Teacher, she retired and moved to Laurel, Md to enjoy quality time with immediate family.   Beyond embracing quality time with family, Mrs. Garnier was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, Pa and enjoyed bowling and golf for many years as a resident in Iowa, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.  A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on April 22, 2017 in honor of Mrs. Neva Garnier at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, Pa.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland.
