New Hampton can’t make it a NEIC sweep

Lead Summary

After defeating Waverly-Shell Rock in a match that decided the Northeast Iowa Conference title during the regular season, the New Hampton volleyball team found themselves once again playing the Go-Hawks in a championship contest this past Saturday - this time for the conference tournament crown.
“We knew that it was a big day and that our hardest competition was Waverly, and we were hoping to win,” senior Kiersten Tenge said. “We knew some teams would be hard, such as Cresco and Decorah, but overall, we were positive coming in.”
Both teams entered this final match undefeated in the tournament - which was held at New Hampton - at 5-0. And while the Chickasaws were able to come out on top in the regular season affair, Waverly-Shell Rock got their revenge on Saturday, sweeping the New Hampton 2-0.
