New Hampton, Charles City will try to beat the storms

The forecast — especially late Friday night — isn’t the best so New Hampton and Charles City will not only try to beat each other, but they also try to beat Mother Nature.Officials have decided to “move up” the starting times for the non-district football games as the fresh-soph game is now scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. and the varsity will follow at 6 p.m.It marks the second straight week New Hampton has had to deal with weather issues when it comes to football games. Last week, the Chickasaws and Aplington-Parkersburg had to sit through a two-hour lightning delay.
