New Hampton experiences both sides of a sweep

Lead Summary

After Savannah Anderson and four of her classmates were honored on Senior Night Wednesday, Anderson’s emotions were raw.
She had just pitched a 3-0 loss to the 4A, third-ranked Comets, but it wasn’t the loss the tears were about.
“I’m gonna miss it. A lot.”
Wednesday was the final regular season home game for the Chickasaws, and the five athletes, which also include Kallie Olson, Bailey Knowlton, Kaelyn Ambrose and Isabel Leichtman, will soon play their final game altogether on Chickasaw soil.
Leichtman won’t actually play, as she’s been recovering from a knee injury, but she did get a chance to start against the Comets, albeit just for a minute.
“We still have some games left, thank the Lord we do, I’m not ready to be done yet,” Anderson said. “This has been one of my favorite things to do. We’ve had a lot of good memories out here.”
