New Hampton girls top Oelwein, beat South Winneshiek

Lead Summary

New Hampton’s girls picked up relatively easy Northeast Iowa Conference wins last Wednesday and Thursday, but this Wednesday and Thursday will be a different story.
Back-to-back wins over Decorah and Oelwein gave the Chickasaws the sweep over those schools. But this week will be especially busy and challenging for the NH girls. After playing at Waverly-Shell Rock in a doubleheader Wednesday, the Chickasaws turn right around and play league-leading Charles City the next night at home in another doubleheader before heading to the Linn-Mar tournament Friday and Saturday.
Charles City does have one loss in the Northeast Iowa Conference, it came at the hands of Waverly-SR last week by a 3-2 score. New Hampton and the Go-Hawks both have three losses in the NEIC and Crestwood has four.
More on the story may be found in the June 19 Tribune.
