Dan Feuling calls himself a “common sense conservative” and believes his background in business, industry and civic affairs would serve him well in the Iowa Legislature.
Throw in the fact that he says Gov. Terry Branstad “called me to ask me to run” for the vacancy created by Brian Quirk’s resignation last week and Feuling is now a candidate for the Iowa House District 52 seat.
The former New Hampton Tribune publisher announced his candidacy on Saturday, saying he would seek the Republican nomination for the seat that covers all of Chickasaw and Floyd counties, along with the eastern third of Cerro Gordo County.
“I consider myself a common sense conservative for limited government because I think people run their own lives better than any government,” Feuling said in a press release.
“I would consider it an honor to work for you and the people of this great state if you give me that opportunity in January.”
