NH/TV’s dynamic duo!

Lead Summary

And then there were just two wrestlers remaining for New Hampton/Turkey Valley, but what a duo Carson Babcock and Jacob Reicks make.
The two seniors were the lone Chickasaws who survived Saturday’s Class 2A district meet, and while NH/TV coach Matt Paulus certainly expected he’d be taking more than two wrestlers to this week’s state tournament, if he had been limited to a pair, he’s taken aces.
“I think we felt like we had a shot with the other two seniors,” Paulus said of Cade Murray and Ryan Pickar, both of whom finished third and didn’t get a true-second wrestleback, “but the two guys we are taking, they’re state championship caliber kids. It’s going to be fun in Des Moines, even with just two.”
Babcock and Reicks have been the ultimate hammers for the Chickasaws in 2020-21 — going a combined 85-1, winning Northeast Iowa Conference titles and making a mockery of their postseason brackets so far.
And they were at it again Saturday.
