Let’s keep area relevant and vote yes on Feb. 7

I am writing this letter in support of the upcoming school bond election.  As a recent retired community member, I see this as an important investment in our students and their futures.  When I was in school, community members, young and retired, saw a need for a new high school and voted yes so I had a safe, up-to-date school facility to go to school in.  It is now our turn!  Those of us who are retired have grandchildren and possibly great-grandchildren who will benefit from a new school.  This community needs a new influx of residents and if a new school will make it more attractive to the younger population to move to New Hampton and surrounding areas, isn't it up to us to help our community grow?  New Hampton is in danger of becoming irrelevant, and without an investment in our future, it will simply become a pass through community.Whether you vote early, absentee or on Feb. 7, I urge you to consider the future of our students and the community and vote YES!
