Jeanine ‘Jeanie’ Lee Hodge, 62

Jeanine “Jeanie” Lee Hodge, age 62  of Hampton, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. 

With honor, Adams Celebration of Life is serving the family.   

Per Jeanie’s wishes she was cremated and there will be no funeral. Private services will be held at a later date.  

Jeanine was born Aug. 26, 1959, the daughter of Sally Johnson Bast and Clifford Bast in Waterloo. 

She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1977. She worked at the convenient store in Charles City following graduation until 1988 when she moved with Bill Hodge to Hampton. Jeanie and Bill were married Nov. 16, 1991.

Jeanie was employed by the Hampton Police Department for 25 years as a certified law enforcement dispatcher and jailer. She will be remembered for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. 

Jeanie liked collecting antiques and collectables, riding with Bill on their Harley Davidson, spending time with children and grandchildren, and just plain honkey-Tonkin.

Those thankful for having shared in Jeanie’s life include her husband of 30 years Bill, three step-daughters Angie (Dean) Geuder and their two children of Cedar Rapids, Nicki (Denny) Hasenbank and their two children of Phoenix, and Mishelle (Corey) Richards and their three children of Carlisle; beloved cat Jeffery, sister Cathy, two brothers, Craig and Ronald; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. 

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Rich, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to First Bank Hampton PO Box 59 Hampton IA 50441 C/O Bill Hodge in memory of Jeanine Hodge.
