Two of the Friday defensive leaders for Turkey Valley team up on this play earlier in the season. Kannon Leuenberger [42] finished with 14 tackle points and Eli Nymeyer recovered a fumble.

Playoff hopes dashed for TV

Slow start costs Trojans in 32-20 loss to Northwood-Kensett

A serious blow was dealt to the chances of Turkey Valley playing in the postseason this year when the Trojans were defeated on a wet field at Northwood-Kensett Friday.
"The winner is still in the playoff picture, the loser is out of the picture for all practical purposes," said coach Mark Scott after the 32-20 loss. "The players played hard but we had trouble executing offensively."
Although Northwood didn't get rain like some schools did during the game, they were deluged before the game.
Turkey Valley came into the game with 786 yards passing to the Vikings'  317, but a combination of the wet field and illness messed with the Trojan passing game.
"We had players missing practice every day because of a stomach bug that probably had something to do with our inconsistency in executing our offense."
After the Vikings came out with a 12-0 first-quarter lead, Turkey Valley scored on a Cale Reicks 65-yard run and Will Einwalter conversion and later in the second Reicks would romp for a 43-yard punt return for a touchdown, but at the half the visitors trailed 18-14.
