One of Nashua-Plainfield’s best weapons this season has been the ability of setter Sydney Hansen to come up with tips for kills.

Huskies get another five-set win

N-P tops West Fork, goes 1-3 at loaded Hampton-Dumont tourney

For a few moments — OK, maybe more than a few — Nashua-Plainfield coach Amber Carter was thinking about sending out an all-points bulletin to find her volleyball team last Tuesday.
But the Huskies “returned” on their own to finally put away West Fork 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 10-25, 15-10 in both teams’ final Top of Iowa East Division match of the season.
“It was a little weird,” Carter said. “We lost focus in the fourth set. In the third set, we were ahead and let them come back in to win it and I feel that might have gotten us a little out of focus.”
And when the Warhawks won the fourth set in a rout, Carter had to do some fast talking to get her team back on track.
“We talked about how we have to play our game on our side,” she said. “It does not matter what they do on their side and that we will adjust accordingly. I told them that we have to do it together and it takes every single person working on doing all of the little things.”
It worked as the Huskies wrapped up their division schedule with a solid 6-3 record.
