Chickasaws face their biggest test of the season

Lead Summary

It’s pretty simple for the New Hampton football team.    Win tonight [Friday] at Clear Lake, claim the Class 2A, District 2 title and earn a home playoff game.    And if the Chickasaws don’t win? Well, then they’re going to need help just to make the playoffs.    “It’s obviously the biggest game of the year for us,” New Hampton coach Scott Frerichs said after his team improved to 6-2 with a 28-10 win over Garner-Hayfield-Ventura last week. “But you know what? This is what you want. You want to have the last game mean something.”   Standing in New Hampton’s way is a Clear Lake team that has had a renaissance year.
