Renee Hettler Rucker dies at 90

Renee Hettler Rucker, 90, of Gladys passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital.  She was the wife of the late James Mason Rucker.
Mrs. Rucker was born in New Hampton, Jan.17, 1927, daughter of the late Henry Leo Hettler and Emma Jane Clausen Hettler.  She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church and a former employee of G. E. Financial.  Renee was one of the regulars at Monument Terrace for many years.
She is survived by four daughters, Sharon R. Gibson of Bel Air, Md., Linda R. Slivkoff of Eaton, Ohio, Kimbra R. Massaker (George), Callie Mason Rucker, all of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren, Kristina Massaker, Michael G. Gibson; three great-grandchildren, Tyler G. Gibson, Mandy Malone Gibson, Zachary Tackett; one sister Rita Joost of Jacksonville, Fla.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Hettler, and Hetty Dick.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at Sharon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dick Daly.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gleaning for the World and the Samaritan's Purse.
