N-P heads in the right direction

Lead Summary

It wasn’t just the way his “big guns” wrestled, it was the way kids like Shane Hillesheim, Justice Palmier and Dalton Asche fared that made Saturday a pretty satisfying day at the Hudson Invitational for Nashua-Plainfield wrestling coach Al Frost.
“It wasn’t as deep as Tripoli was last week,” the veteran coach said after his team finished second in the team standings, “but you know what? We had a good showing. We got some guys who had tossup matches and they won them.
“Some of those guys, you know, they needed a two-win tournament. They’re sophomores and freshmen and they’re not wrestling at the lower weights, either. We took a step in the right direction, and I mean that for all of our guys.”
The Huskies had just one champion — Tristen Brase at 145 — but 13 of the 14 wrestlers scored team points as Nashua-Plainfield finished with 143.5.
