Dorothy Amanda Carr, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Arbor Springs Nursing Home in West Des Moines.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20 at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City. 
Friends are invited join the family for lunch at the Floyd County Museum, Charles City before traveling to her graveside service being held 3 p.m. Saturday at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
She was born on July 9, 1930, in Charles City to Anthony John and Katherine Elizabeth (Doerr) Einck. 
The family moved to a farm outside New Hampton, when she was age 2. 
After her marriage to Clarence W. Carr, they made a home together in Waterloo until his death in 1978.
Dorothy worked for 23 years at St. Francis Hospital, later Covenant Medical Center, in Waterloo, as a baker. She enjoyed providing homemade bread, cookies and desserts to the patients and staff at the hospital.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Cathy Carr-Davis (Merlin Davis) and Cindy Carr (Frank Castleberry, Jr.); granddaughters, Erienne and Sabrina Davis and Cheyenne Castleberry; sisters, Ardis Wiltse, Ila Mihm and Helen Einck; sister-in-law, Marg Einck; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Carr; her parents; her brothers, Donald and Wayne Einck; and sisters, Vera Schmitt and Oril Schmitt.
Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home is handling Des Moines arrangements.
