Overtime thriller!

Everyone has different ways of relaxing.
Take Turkey Valley’s Levi Izer. He relaxed a little during the Trojans’ game against Central Tuesday after making two free throws with 24.5 seconds left in overtime, then relaxed a little more when he knocked down another pair with 11.2 seconds left, giving the Trojans a 57-52 lead.
That first time to the line was a 1-and-1 situation, and at the time Turkey Valley had a tentative 53-50 lead.
“I just kept thinking ‘please hit them,’” he said after the Trojans won 57-53 in the first overtime. “When I did, that was a big stress reliever. Some people were jumping up and down after the game, I was working on that....”
It was the second time this season the Trojans beat the Warriors in overtime.
“Every time!” said Izer shaking his head. “Those guys put up a fight every time. We switched up our defense quite a bit and I think it confused them, threw them off a little.”
The win gave the Turkey Valley boys the Upper Iowa Conference championship, but you won’t find coach Chris Sullivan relaxing any time soon.
“We definitely want to go 13-0 in conference,” he said after his team went to 11-0 in the UIC and 13-3 overall.
Turkey Valley started the game slowly, even as Central was hitting their long shots, and the Trojans trailed 10-7 after a quarter.
