Top-ranked NH/TV advances at state duals

Lead Summary

Top-ranked New Hampton/Turkey Valley survived a stern test from Webster City to beat the Lynx 40-33 in the opening round of the Class 2A state dual tournament.
The Chickasaws improved to 32-3 and will meet West Delaware or Davenport Assumption in the semifinals Wednesday afternoon.
But Webster City did not go quietly as the Lynx took a 33-28 lead going into the meet's final two matches.
NH/TV, though, pulled out the victory as its two top-ranked wrestlers, 138-pound Michael Blockhus and 145-pound Noah Fye, ended Webster City's upset hopes with two pins.
The Chickasaws also got pins from Cale Reicks (160), Noah Glaser (170) and Mason Cleveland (126); a major decision from Johnny Dreckman (106) and decisions from Evan Rosonke (195) and Areon Day (220).
