Chickasaws to wrestle for state duals title

Lead Summary

New Hampton/Turkey Valley reeled off five straight wins late in the meet and overpowered West Delaware 47-24 to earn a spot in the Class 2A state-dual tournament.
Trailing 20-19, the top-ranked Chickasaws took the lead for good with a Carson Babcock technical fall at 120 and then got a major decision from Mason Cleveland before Hunter Pesek, Max Babcock and Michael Blockhus came up with back-to-back-to-back pins to seal the deal.
NH/TV will now meet Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in the championship meet tonight at 6:30.
"We showed a lot of poise, I felt," NH/TV coach Nick Hemann said. "We felt Webster City was a tough matchup for us, and West Delaware has a nice young team. But we got to where we wanted to be and now we need to take that last step."
