Chickasaws land two on all-NEIC

New Hampton boys basketball coach Chad Sweitzer couldn’t have been much happier with how his Chickasaws fared when it came to the all-Northeast Iowa Conference teams league coaches selected recently.
A year ago, the Chickasaws didn’t have a single selection on the first team and just one on the second team despite finishing all alone in second place in the conference.
This year, despite struggling to a fifth-place finish, the Chickasaws landed one player on each team as senior Keagan John was named to the first team while classmate Jake Zwanziger was a second-team selection.
“They’re both, in my mind, very deserving,” said Sweitzer, whose team finished the season 12-11 overall and 4-8 in NEIC play. “I was really hoping we could get Jake on a team, but after last year, I wasn’t going to hold my breath so I’m real happy with the way it turned out.”
