Norbert “Norb” was born Sept. 6, 1936, the son of Leo and Susan (Schmitz) Koenigsfeld on the family farm in rural Chickasaw County.
He attended and graduated from St. Boniface Catholic School in Ionia. While in high school, Norb made egg cases for Ionia Produce.
After completing his education, he worked for Hydrotile in Nashua and began his lifelong farming career with his father.
In 1958, Norb was united in marriage to Loretta Cleveland at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia. The couple made their home on a family farm near New Hampton where they welcomed their children — Laura, Mark, Sandra, Karen and Norbert Paul.

Norb spent 30-plus years working for Oliver/White Farm in Charles City as a supervisor until 1993 when the plant closed and finished his working career alongside his son, Mark, at MK Design Builders.
In retirement, Norb and Loretta remained on their farm. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing and putting puzzles together.

His family was his pride and joy.
He was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church.
