Patrick Daniel Sheridan dies at 73

Patrick Daniel Sheridan 73 years old of Manly, passed away Jan. 9, 2014 from cancer at his daughter’s home in Mason City.

Services will be Saturday Jan. 25, 11 am at First Assembly of God, 1301 N. Carolina, Mason City, with Rev. George Ady. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. at the church. 

Patrick Daniel Sheridan was born Jan. 2, 1941 to Daniel and Blanche (Finnegan) Sheridan. Patrick was born and grew up on the family farm near Lawler. He graduated from Lawler High School in 1959. He married Barbara Carter on August 4, 1962 but later divorced in 1984. They had four children Jeannie (Deane Jr.) Johnson of Mason City, Joannie (Chip) Hillesheim of Murphysboro, IL; Jacqueline Sheridan and Janell (Mick) Norton of Dakota City, NE. Patrick worked at the Lawler Co-op for 3 years. He attended Hamilton Business College and received a degree in Business. He worked at Oliver Tractor in Charles City for the Cost Accounting dept., then Life Time Industry in Mason City in the payroll department. Alexander Manufacturing and Distributing in Mason City as a bookkeeper. Morgain Feed in Mason City as a bookkeeper. On Jan. 10, 1975 he went into business for himself as a carpenter. 

Patrick received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1985. Patrick enjoyed puzzles, reading, airplanes, motorcycles, spending time with friends and family and working with his hands. He was 64 years old when he purchased his first motorcycle and learned to ride. 

He was survived by his sisters Mary (Virgil) Hillsman, Alice (Ray) Tiemessen. His daughters Jeannie (Deane Jr.) Johnson, Joannie (Chip) Hillesheim, and Janell (Mick) Norton. Grandchildren Stephanie (Dustin) McDonald, Brooke Johnson and Jake Bushbaum, Evan (Sheree) Norton, Megan (Ryan) Trageser, Melody Boerjan, Hillary (Shiloh) Seymour, Ashley (Tyler) Cooper, Holly Hillesheim, Cutler Hillesheim, Hannah Norton, Leah Norton, Nicole Norton. Great-grandchildren Lathan and Shelby McDonald, Faith and Kalianne Norton, Levi and Bristol Seymour. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Blanche Sheridan, brother-in-law Henry Jr. and sister Margret Joebgen, daughter Jacqueline Sheridan and grandson Cory Hillesheim.
