Melissa Sue Schweer was born on Oct. 2, 1976, in Mason City. Everyone called her Missy.
She started her working career at Hardee’s, Tri-State Signing and most recently at DECO in Decorah.
Missy had a passion for animals and enjoyed volunteering at the Humane Society in Decorah. The dogs and cats enjoyed her as much as she enjoyed them!
Missy loved the outdoors, her little flower garden and her feisty puppy, RoseMary.
In her free time she liked watching Netflix, animals, doing crafts, listening to music, playing games and visiting with friends. She looked forward to going to Country Jam every year.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Quenten, Hailiegh, Daykotta and Dillion; her mother, Cindy Ohm of Lawler; brother, Kris (Kristy) Schweer of Manchester; her maternal grandmother, Caroline Ohm of New Hampton; aunt, Vicki Brummond of DeSoto, Wis.; niece, Mavrik Schweer; nephew, Knoxin Schweer; and cousins, RB Brummond and Nick Brummond.
She will be met in heaven by her maternal grandfather, William “Bill” Ohm.
