One final scrap

Lead Summary

They’ve been down this road before, but make no mistake about it, there’s a sense of urgency for Jordan Roths and Logan Hopp.  The two 2012 New Hampton High School graduates are embarking on their last great journey this weekend as the two Upper Iowa University student-athletes join two of their teammates competing at the NCAA Division II national wrestling tournament.  Yes, because he received a medical redshirt year last season because of a knee injury, Hopp technically is a red-shirt junior heavyweight but when he steps off the mat in Birmingham, Ala., his collegiate wrestling career will in all likelihood be over.  “I’m treating this as a this-is-it kind of thing,” Hopp said, “and so for me, it’s going to be round by round and see what happens.”  While Hopp could come back next year, Roths is a red-shirt senior at 141 pounds. This is definitely it.  The rest of the story may be found in the March 10 Tribune.
