Pool will go to the dogs ... for a day

The New Hampton Municipal Pool will open its gates to man’s best friend on Sunday ... and then close for the season.The annual Doggie Swim that is a fundraiser for the Chickasaw County chapter of Spay and Neuter All Pets (SNAP) will be held on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at the facility in Mikkelson Park.Admission cost is $1 for dogs and $1 for humans, and all proceeds will go to SNAP.Food and beverages will be available for purchase, but the slide, which was refurbished two years ago, will be closed.The final regular day of the 2016 swimming season will be on Saturday, when the pool will be open from 1:30 to 7 p.m.
